- Where In Our World Is Wonglepong?
- Emu Station sits in a tiny little corner of Queensland right out East of the big Red. A perfect paradise – that’s how we think about our home. Wonglepong – A green and perfect paradise when the rains come and a dry and dusty little place when they don’t turn up. Crikey! always feast or famine out here but we love the place.

Wonglepong Visitor
Just so you know there is actually a Wonglepong Down Under!
My mate Jenny Deering sent in this photo taken last Century (?? – yup a while back now!!!) when she and her mates were on a trek across country and stumbled upon good ol’ Wonglepong. Pity Jenny missed Emu Station on her way through – maybe next century?

MeeT the EMuS
Emu [’iːmjuː] – A large, flightless bird. All Australian with a quirky sense of humour.
Emus luv people, and’ Down Under in Australia at Emu Station they’re always poppin’ up somewhere!
There’s Cute Emu, she would chaarm you just by looking at you!
Distinguished Emu on the other hand is just plain snooty, or so all his mates think. He comes from a long line of Emu leaders and tries to keep the standards up at the station. We call him Dissy for short - really gets up his beak that does !
Inquisitive Emu ( we calls her Quizzie) jus’ keeps poppin’ up all over the find out wha’t's happening round’ the Station. Keeps everyone up on the local goss’. Hmm! maybe she shoulda have been called Sticky Beak !
Blue Emu, heck he’s sooooo tall all anyone ever sees is him and the sky. Story goes he fell into a beer keg as a sprog an’ just kept on growin’ an’ growin’.
Then there’s Bruce an’ Bluey – heck they go everywhere together. Always hecklin’ the other Emus big time.
